Lane centring

Added:25/10/2024
Contributor:FAME

Current consensus

Lane centring is the vehicle system that uses cameras or other inputs and systematic controls to help the vehicle stay in the centre of the driven lane.

Explanation

Note that unlike lane-keeping assist, this system operates continuously, applying steering controls to keep the vehicle in the centre of the lane whilst in operation. Current systems rely on lane markings of sufficient quality and visibility to support the function. The system can be cancelled by use of the turn signals.
