Current consensus
Scene is the snapshot of all entities including, but not limited to the automated driving system (ADS)- subject vehicle, scenery, dynamic environment, and all actors and observer's self-representations, and the relationships between those entities.
Explanation
- Number
- The definition is an editorial rework of the definition in ISO 21448. The intended meaning of both definitions is the same.
- A scene is a snapshot of the scenario which consists of both static entities and dynamic entities in a scenario, whereas the scenery only consists of static entities, excluding parts belonging to ADS-subject vehicle.
- Only a scene representation in a simulated world can be all-encompassing (i.e., an objective scene or ground truth). In the real world, the scene is incomplete, incorrect, uncertain, and from one or several observers’ points of view (i.e., a subjective scene).
