Shared mobility is the shared use of a travel mode that provides travelers with access to a transportation mode on an as-needed basis.

- Shared mobility includes various travel modes and service models that meet the diverse needs of users. Shared mobility can include station-based roundtrip services, station-based one-way services, and free-floating one-way services.
- Shared mobility services that employ motor vehicles may also include vehicles equipped with automation, as described in SAE J3016.
