ITS-G5 is the communications standard for supporting vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communications in an ad hoc network based on IEEE 802.11-2012 and ANSI-IEEE Std 802.2.

Explanation

Note: ITS stands for intelligent transport systems. G5 is derived from the frequency band (5.9GHz) upon which it was designed to operate.
